The Astor Bannerman Comfort S is a spacious, height-adjustable assisted bath designed for care homes and residents requiring additional bathing support. Its generous bathing area, powered height adjustment and compatibility with mobile and ceiling hoists help carers provide comfortable, supported bathing.
Available with optional postural supports, the Neatfold changing and drying stretcher, sensory bathing features and an integrated Showersafe shower system, the Comfort S can be configured around different resident needs and care environments.
The generous 2100 mm by 800 mm tub allows room for residents needing additional space, positioning aids or complex care support.
The bath rim adjusts between 680 and 1080 mm, helping care staff find a practical working height.
Designed for assisted transfers with compatible mobile and overhead hoists, subject to individual handling and room assessments.
The compatible folding stretcher supports changing and drying over the bath without an additional transfer.
Standard Kiwa KUKReg4 Showersafe shower gantry provides fluid category 5 backflow protection, with separate TMV3 controls for bath and shower.
Warm-air spa, LED colour lighting, Bluetooth audio, a footboard and tailored posture-support cushions can be specified where suitable.
The Comfort S does not have a powered traverse seat. Residents transfer using appropriate mobile or ceiling-hoist equipment, with optional internal supports and the Neatfold stretcher available for particular care needs. Confirm compatibility with the resident, handling plan and room layout.
The bath is designed for compatible mobile-hoist access, provided sufficient floor clearance and safe working space are available.
Overhead hoist systems can be used for supported entry and positioning, subject to equipment and sling compatibility.
Optional cushions, footboards and the Neatfold stretcher can assist with supported positioning, drying and changing.
Maximum working-load figures differ between Astor Bannerman documents (400 kg in its current care-range comparison, 300 kg in an older Avero Comfort S PDF). Confirm the rating of the exact supplied Comfort S with the manufacturer before quotation or use. The working-load rating should not be assumed to be a separate patient-only limit.
Able can assess bathroom dimensions, hoist approach, the resident’s handling plan and any required supportive positioning accessories before selecting a Comfort S.
We can assist with equipment specification, supply, installation and commissioning, followed by planned servicing and breakdown support.
