The Astor Bannerman Compact Solo is a height-adjustable specialist bath designed for care homes and nursing environments where residents require hoist-assisted bathing. Its spacious, contoured bathing area accommodates compatible mobile and ceiling hoists, providing a comfortable bathing experience while supporting safer working practices for care staff.
Available in 1600 mm and 1700 mm lengths, the Compact Solo features powered height adjustment, thermostatic temperature controls and a shower system with fluid category 5 backflow protection. Optional air spa, colour-changing lighting and Bluetooth audio systems allow the bathing experience to be tailored to individual requirements.
The bath rises and lowers through a 300 mm range to help carers work at a more comfortable height during assisted bathing.
Without an integral powered seat, the open tub accommodates residents transferred using suitable ceiling or mobile hoists.
Select a 1600 mm or 1700 mm bath to suit available room space and the resident’s bathing needs.
The sculpted internal form provides room for the bather while offering useful body support and easy-clean surfaces.
The Showersafe gantry offers fluid category 5 backflow protection, with separate TMV3 controls for shower and bath filler.
Optional warm-air spa, colour-changing lights and Bluetooth audio can enhance the bathing experience.
The Compact Solo has no integral powered transfer seat. It is designed to work with compatible ceiling-track or mobile hoists, with hoist-access panels and clearance beneath the bath supporting appropriate handling arrangements.
The seat-free bathing area can accommodate users who require transfer from an overhead hoist, subject to a handling and compatibility assessment.
Hoist-access panels and space beneath the bath allow the feet of compatible floor hoists to approach the tub.
Powered rise and fall allows the tub to be raised for carers after the bather has been transferred into the bath.
Values for 1600 mm and 1700 mm baths are listed in that order. The detailed manufacturer product specification gives a height range of 780–1080 mm, while its comparison chart shows 680–980 mm; confirm the exact supplied configuration before quoting. The maximum working load includes bath, bather and water, and is not a user-weight-only rating.
Able can review the room, user care needs, hoist model and transfer route to help establish whether the seat-free Compact Solo is appropriate.
